Every Bhumi project begins in the same ground. Watch the roots spread from the heart of the island to the places where the studio’s work now stands.

Soulful architecture
× bio-innovation
Spaces crafted with earth, culture and sustainable technology. The lab treats nature as its teacher, working with biomaterials, mycelium and regenerative thinking to build places that heal and give back to their communities.
A villa shaped by biomimicry. Its flowing roof follows the curve of a leaf, deep overhangs shade like a canopy, and stone, rattan, timber and creepers keep it rooted in the forest.
A stone chalet with living green roofs, set on a hillside that faces Adam’s Peak. A raised circular bed and a starlit ceiling bring the night sky inside.
A hikers’ dormitory built into the landscape, with warm timber, natural materials and framed views out to Manigala.
A wilderness eco-lodge deep in the Yala jungle. Thatched pavilions sit low under the forest canopy, and tented suites open onto timber decks and plunge pools built around the existing trees.
A lodge in the Sinharaja rainforest where river, light and leaf shape each space, so the building reads as part of the forest.
